Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy describes how Opening Bell Ventures, LLC ("Opening Bell Ventures," "OBV," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and protects information when you visit shelly.openingbellventures.ai (the "Site"), submit a form on the Site, or click to request a demo call with Shelly, our AI voice analyst (collectively, the "Services").
This Policy applies to visitors and users of the Site. It does not describe how personal information is handled by OBV's enterprise clients when they deploy Shelly within their own organizations to interview their employees, customers, or other stakeholders. That processing is governed by the applicable client's own privacy notices and by contractual terms between OBV and that client, not by this Policy.
By using the Site, you agree to the collection and use of information as described here. If you do not agree with this Policy, please do not use the Site.

- Free-text submissions: If you describe a process, dataset, or use case you'd like to discuss, that text is collected as you write it.
- Demo call request: If you click to request a demo call from Shelly, the phone number you provide is collected for the purpose of placing that call.
- Correspondence: If you email us directly (for example, at legal@openingbellventures.com or any other OBV address), we retain that correspondence and any information you include in it.
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
The Site does not currently use analytics tools, advertising pixels, or marketing trackers. We are not collecting behavioral or advertising data about your visit.
Our hosting platform, Lovable, may retain standard technical logs, such as IP address, browser type, and access timestamps, as part of its normal infrastructure operations. We do not separately access or analyze this data for marketing or analytics purposes. If we add analytics or advertising tools to the Site in the future, we will update this Policy accordingly and, where required by law, implement a cookie consent mechanism before doing so.
2.3 Voice and Call Data (Demo Conversations with Shelly)
If you click to request a demo call, an automated voice system, powered by our voice AI infrastructure provider will place a call to the phone number you provided. In connection with that call, we collect:
- The phone number you provided
- Audio of the call and a transcript generated from it
- Metadata about the call, such as date, time, and duration
Voice recordings from this call are used solely to demonstrate Shelly's capabilities to you and to help our team follow up on your inquiry. See Section 9 for additional detail on how this data is handled, including retention and destruction.
This demo call feature is available for U.S. phone numbers only.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information described above to:
- Respond to inquiries submitted through the Site and follow up on demo requests
- Place a demo call through Shelly when you request one
- Evaluate whether OBV's services may be a fit for your organization
- Operate and maintain the Site and the Shelly product
- Communicate with you about OBV's products and services, where permitted
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our agreements
We do not use information submitted through the Site to make automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about you.
4. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information.
We share information with the following service providers, each of whom is only permitted to use your information to perform services on our behalf:
- Lovable - hosts and operates the Site
- Microsoft CRM - stores and manages lead and contact information submitted through the Site
- Voice AI provider - powers the voice AI infrastructure used to place demo calls with Shelly
We may also disclose information:
- For legal and safety purposes, where we believe disclosure is necessary to comply with a legal obligation, protect the rights or safety of OBV, our users, or others, or investigate fraud or security issues.
- In connection with a business transfer, if OBV is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to standard confidentiality protections.
We do not share your information with third parties for their own independent marketing purposes without your consent.
5. Cookies and Similar Technologies
The Site does not currently use cookies for analytics, advertising, or tracking purposes, and we have not implemented a cookie consent banner, as none is currently required. The Site may rely on minimal, strictly necessary technical functionality provided by our hosting platform, Lovable, to operate correctly.
If we introduce analytics, advertising, or other non-essential cookies in the future, we will update this section, describe the categories of cookies in use, and implement a cookie consent mechanism where required by law.
6. Data Retention
- Lead form submissions (name, business email, phone, company, and any free-text submissions): retained indefinitely, so that our team can follow up on your inquiry over time. You may request deletion of this information at any time by contacting legal@openingbellventures.com, and we will honor that request as described in Section 8.
- Demo call recordings and transcripts: retained for 12 months from the date of the call, after which they are deleted.
- Technical/hosting logs: retained consistent with the standard operational practices of our hosting provider, Lovable. We do not separately extend or extract this data for our own retention purposes.
7. Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect the information we collect from unauthorized access, use, alteration, or disclosure. No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
If we become aware of a security incident affecting your personal information, we will notify affected individuals and/or regulators as required by applicable law.
8. Your Privacy Rights and Choices
8.1 General Choices
- Marketing communications: You may opt out of receiving marketing emails from us by using the unsubscribe link in any such email or by contacting legal@openingbellventures.com.
- Demo calls: You may decline or end a demo call with Shelly at any time. Providing a phone number is entirely optional and is not required to submit the lead form.
- Access, correction, or deletion: You may contact legal@openingbellventures.com at any time to ask what information we hold about you, to correct it, or to request that we delete it. We will honor reasonable requests, subject to any legal obligations that require us to retain certain information.
8.2 California Residents
California's privacy law (CCPA/CPRA) applies to businesses that meet certain thresholds, including annual gross revenue over $25 million, or handling the personal information of 100,000 or more California consumers or households per year. Based on Opening Bell Ventures' current size and operations, we do not believe these thresholds are met, and the CCPA/CPRA's specific business obligations do not currently apply to OBV.
As a matter of good practice, we are nonetheless glad to honor reasonable requests from California residents to know what personal information we hold about them, correct it, or delete it, using the contact method in Section 8.1. We do not sell or share personal information, so there is no sale or sharing to opt out of.
9. Voice Data Disclosure
When you request a demo call, your voice is recorded, transcribed, and analyzed by Shelly for the purpose of demonstrating our product and following up on your inquiry.
- Recordings and transcripts from demo calls are retained for 12 months from the date of the call, after which they are permanently deleted.
- We do not sell, lease, or trade voice data to third parties.
- Your voice data is used only for the purposes described in this Policy: conducting the demo, and internal follow-up by our team.
- By clicking to request a demo call and proceeding with it, you consent to the collection, recording, and use of your voice data as described in this section.
If you do not wish to have your voice recorded, please do not click to request a demo call; you can still reach us by submitting the lead form or emailing legal@openingbellventures.com.
10. Consent to Be Called
By clicking the button to request a demo call and providing your phone number, you expressly request and consent to receive an immediate call from Shelly at that number, placed using an automated voice system, for the purpose of the demo conversation you requested.
- Consent to receive this call is not a condition of purchasing any product or service from Opening Bell Ventures.
- Standard message and data rates may apply depending on your carrier and plan.
- You may decline or end the call at any time, or contact legal@openingbellventures.com to ask that your number not be called again.
- This feature is available for U.S. phone numbers only.
11. Children's Privacy
The Site and Services are intended for business use by adults and are not directed to individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child, we will delete it.
